Attributes of a Healer
Simply put, a healer is nurtured by compassion and
oriented toward a higher order of self. She uses a centered
state of consciousness and knowledgeable intentionality to
direct and modulate energy.
Most instructors of healing energy recognize nine attributes
in a healer:
- The intent to help others. The altruistic thought of
bringing another human being comfort is the basis for
all healing work.
- The ability to concentrate. Healing work is a
conscious, intuitive process and is not one that can be
done in a perfunctory manner with your thoughts
elsewhere.
- The ability to center. Harmonizing your field with that
of the client and the environment all while maintaining
a focused, meditative state is the cornerstone of
effective healing work.
- A personal state of wellness and alertness. You
cannot be an effective healer if you are not well and
energized.
- Feeling compassion or love. This quality, traditional to
the idea of caring, is also germane to the practice of
healing energy work.
- Proficiency at transmitting universal energy and not
personal energy to prevent personal burnout.
- Dedication and practice so that the act of healing
becomes an “effortless effort”.
- The ability to visualize colors and non-traditional
manifestations of energy. You need to keep an open
mind to all possibilities.
- A sense of confidence and belief that your
interventions are going to work.
